The second application of substitute services in 2014 is held from April 1st.
Pursuant to Conscription Agency, Ministry of the Interior, the second application of general substitute services in 2014 will be held from April 1 to April 15. The draftees who haven’t received enlistment and born during 1979 to 1993 are welcomed to apply the alternative service in this period of time. Furthermore, overseas students are accepted to apply for general substitute services this year.
Draftees who are qualified for special skills Alternative Service should go to “general substitute services application process information system”(http://www.nca.gov.tw/sugsys/) at Conscription Agency website to input basic personal information, select period of services, category of services and institution (non-changeable). The draftees who apply for the special skills Alternative Service can also apply for the general Alternative Service. The draftees should bring an identification card and expertise certificate to household registration hall to complete the application process by April 15.
Draftees who have the degree of the mainland region of the Republic of China and plan to apply for Alternative services should follow "The Policy of The Recognition of Educational Qualifications from Mainland Area" to certify the degree, and mail the copy of the certified degree and application to Conscription Agency by April 15. Applicants with foreign academic certificates should have their academic certificates identified by overseas office. Both the local draftees and the overseas students are eligible to compete for the fixed quota. Furthermore, people who return from overseas and have already finished conscription management should also go to household registration hall to apply for general substitute services.
In order to improve efficacy of substitute services, special skills alternative service draftees will be recruited in one of the following period: 2014 second half of the year (July to December) or first half of 2015 (January to June). Draftees can choose between the two periods for their career planning, as well as for their categories of service and service unit. The recruitment will be prioritized according to the order of draw. Draftees who apply for the general alternative service without applying for the special skills alternative service should go to household registration hall to propose application with identification card and signet. After approved, the recruitment will be prioritized by application sequence.
