2011 Draftees with special skills may apply in April
Born in 1992 and/or before who have not yet receive the service command but hope to apply for special skills Alternative Service may complete the process at registered census from April 1 to 15. This year, we also accept oversea students to come back to serve in such substation.
Ministry of the Interior declared that people who apply for such service should go to http://www.nca.gov.tw to register and input personal information, period of service, category of service and institution (non-changeable).
Bring the certificate of expertise to one’s registered census to apply. To complete the process, mail the package to No.21, Guangming 1st Rd., Chung-Hsin New Village, Nantou City, Nantou County 540, Taiwan (R.O.C.) before deadline.
People who have the degree of the mainland region of the Republic of China and plan to apply for Substitute Service should follow "The Policy of The Recognition of Educational Qualifications From Mainland Area" to certified the degree, and mail the copy of the certified degree and application to Conscription Agency before April 15.
People with foreign degree and not yet fulfill the duty will have to certified the degree with local Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and mail it to Conscription Agency. However, draftees who have already applied should still report to their registered census to process with application of Alternative Service.
For draftees' benefit and to plan their career better, draftees 2011 who have applied for Substitute Service will be recruited in one of the following period: 2011 second half of the year (July to December) or first half of 2012 (January to June). Draftees can choose between the two periods, as well as for their categories of service and service unit. The recruitment will be prioritized according to the order of draw.
